What does “Living as an Expat in Peru” conjure up in your mind? Towering Andes? The classic Peruvian dress? Ceviche? Exotic adventure?   Anything else…?    I am sure there is…

So, what’s great about living as an expat in Peru?  Quite a lot!

Absolutely fresh and delicious food.  Food prepared with a unique Peruvian European flair that actually tastes the way it is supposed to and, at a fraction of the cost we would pay in North America / Europe. Yes, you can come here for a culinary delight!

A truly unique, historic and emerging modern culture.   Peru oozes the influence of its ancient cultures, ancient temples, shamanism, and numerous archeological sites to the latest of consumer trends, fashion designers, and yes, even a multitude of Starbucks!   And with this, a very lively middle class is definitely emerging!  .

A landscape vast and varied.  5,000 meter plus year round snow-capped Andean peaks, to coastal deserts, lush agricultural valleys and Amazon jungles, just to name a few, creates the arena for superb tourism, and enables one to find great weather any time of year.  Plus, the bonus!   When it is cold and snowy in Canada, it is warm in Peru… J

What is not so great?   Like any developing country, the carbon emissions for urban areas, such as Lima are not delightful. However in certain districts with their grand boulevards, wonderfully manicured parks and vistas overlooking the Pacific Ocean - ones each and every expat may enjoy with ease - the air quality is not so different than the downtown of any major Western city.

Yet… take a little time, get out of Lima, and there are many an oasis to explore!

Why did we come to Peru?

We came for business.  Peru is one of the Latin America tigers.  In 2008, Peru enjoyed a 9.8% GDP growth.  And to live here, you will know why.  Lima never sleeps.

More specifically, we came to develop mining interests, particularly focusing on gold and silver.   A few years back, we had a strong hunch of the coming financial debacle (you too eh!) and, knew that gold and silver, in particular, would be sought after commodities.

We focus our efforts to be a direct source for private investors to obtain gold and silver.  Private investors are able to purchase gold and silver at a discount to current market pricing, in return for delivery on a forward basis.  Quite nice, actually, as often people buy and hold.   So why not buy well?  It protects and builds ones assets at the same time!

Peru has a mining culture that pre-dates European colonization.  Today, Peru is seen as a country with immense mining potential. Walk the Andes and you can literally see the veins.   There are producing and development opportunities present in Peru, not seen in Canada, US or Australia since the 1940’s.  Most, if not all, of the major producing mining companies have a presence. Peru Silver production is #1 in the world and Peru Gold production is # 5th in the world.

Email us and let us know if you would like to visit us, or even obtain some gold and silver from us.  We would be delighted to hear from you!

Note: Linda is an accountant and investment banker who decided to do something different with her life, leaving the ratrace to set up a gold mining business in Peru.
