The Parliament (General Council) has between 28 and 42 members of the legislative branch , known as Councilors. They each serve four-year terms.  Half of the Councilors come from a single national constituency and the other half comes the seven administrative parishes, through elections.  The Councilors elect a Prime Minister from their ranks.
